Mansfield Town midfielder Jon D'Laryea says it is an honour to be named in the England C squad.
The 23-year-old could win a second cap against Italy on Wednesday after an injury to Histon's Antonio Murray.
D'Laryea told BBC Radio Nottingham: "The first time, in Bosnia, I thought I'd just treat it like any other game but you start to feel emotional.
"To be selected to represent your country feels amazing because you realise you are representing England."
D'Laryea was on standby until a phone call from the Football Association on Saturday night meant he had to quickly get ready for the trip to Italy.

"After the Chesterfield game on Saturday I went home and got the phone call, so it was a last-minute thing," he said.
"It was a bit of a surprise. I only had about 12 hours to get ready."
