Mansfield Town will face a hearing with the Football Conference next week over the registration of players.

Officials will investigate whether one or more of the Stags' players were ineligible for the first two games of the current season.

The hearing will take place on Monday, 6 October at the Conference headquarters in Birmingham.

Mansfield picked up a draw and a win from their first two games, and will be hoping not to lose those points.

A Conference spokesman told BBC Radio Nottingham the club have been "extremely helpful" throughout the investigation.
