Mansfield Town manager Billy McEwan is relishing the chance to prove that his side deserve their place at the top of Blue Square Premier.
Stags went top of the table following Saturday's 3-1 win over Eastbourne, and McEwan knows the status will invite tougher challenges.
"Teams will raise their game because they're playing a team that's up the top," he told BBC Radio Nottingham.
"It's a scalp if they can knock someone off the top and we're aware of that."
Mansfield travel to face third-place Crawley this weekend, but McEwan is confident his squad will be able to deal with the added pressure.
"We've got enough experience in that dressing room to deal with that; people like (Mark) Stallard, (Aide) Moses and Jason Lee.
"The players I've brought to the club have mostly been league players with league experience, and I'm sure they can handle that."
