McEwan has led Mansfield to fifth with three wins from five league games

Mansfield Town manager Billy McEwan says his team must improve defensively, despite some impressive results.

The Stags have made a good start to life in the Blue Square Premier, winning all three of their home games, but they have conceded eight goals.

McEwan told BBC Radio Nottingham: "As a team we've got to defend better. We can't give goals away the way we are.

"It puts pressure on us and we don't need that. We've got to put a lot of thought into our game also."
