Michael Boulding's last league appearance came in April 2005 |
Mansfield have agreed to sign former Rotherham striker Michael Boulding - and his 17-year-old brother Rory. The senior Boulding, 30, had announced his retirement in the summer of 2005, but joined the Millers last season without making a first-team appearance.
Both players have impressed Stags boss Peter Shirtliff in pre-season.
"Michael probably retired too early, and he probably regrets taking a year out, although he has kept himself fit," Shirtliff told Mansfield's website.
"Rory is one for the future, but both lads will be welcome additions to the squad."
Michael Boulding, a former junior tennis star, had a previous spell at Field Mill between 1999 and 2001, during which time he scored 12 goals in 65 league appearances.
