Striker Michael Boulding has joined Rotherham United - seven months after retiring from football. Boulding, now 30, told Crewe boss Dario Gradi he was retiring in August 2005 after rejecting a move to Gresty Road, following his release by Barnsley.
But he has made three appearances for Rotherham's reserves, and now joined them until the end of the season.
"It could be a useful signing for us once he reaches full fitness again," boss Alan Knill told the club website.
Boulding was a British junior tennis star - and room-mate of Tim Henman - before switching to football in 1999.
He has previously played for Mansfield, Grimsby, Aston Villa, Sheffield United, Cardiff and Barnsley.
