Diop looks to Man Utd
Pape Bouba Diop celebrates the winning goal in Senegal's dramatic World Cup victory over France
Diop celebrates his World Cup strike against France
Senegal World Cup star Pape Bouba Diop has revealed Manchester United are considering bringing him to the Premiership.

The Lens midfielder, who scored the opening goal in this summer's World Cup, claims United have already made contact with him.

"Manchester United have been watching me regularly," the 23-year-old told World Soccer magazine.

"They asked me to show them what I can do.

"I said `no problem' and what happens next is down to my agents."

Diop added that he is keen to move to the Premiership, where three of his World Cup team-mates already play.

Liverpool signed El Hadji Diouf and Salif Diao in the summer, while Senegal captain Aliou Cisse moved to Birmingham.

"It has been my dream to play in the English league ever since I was a kid," said Diop.

"I've had a couple of offers but nothing came of them. Still, I'm only 23, I can wait."

Diop has already proved he has the strength to compete in the Premiership after he and Diao won their midfield battle with Patrick Vieira and Emmanuel Petit in the 1-0 World Cup win against France in May.
