Whitley returns to City
Jeff Whitley has returned to Manchester City after his three-month loan spell with Notts County.

But the 28-year-old midfielder has already been told he has no future at City.

Blues manager Kevin Keegan has made it clear the Northern Ireland international will never be picked for the first team.

Whitley enjoyed a successful spell at Notts County and played in their 1-1 draw with Brentford.

But he has not played for Man City since he broke his ankle early last season.

Meanwhile, Keegan is still looking to bring fresh blood to Maine Road before the tranfer window closes.

Dutch striker Pierre van Hooijdonk is reported to be top of Keegan's wish-list after Robbie Fowler's high profile switch from Leeds fell through.
