Macclesfield's Gary Simpson frustrated at loan market

Simpson took over as manager following the death of Keith Alexander

Macclesfield Town manager Gary Simpson has spoken of his frustration at trying to bring players to the club on loan.

Simpson thought he had secured a deal for Reece Brown from Manchester United before he moved to Bradford, and has been unable to add to his squad.

He told BBC Radio Manchester: "We've been trying for the last two or three weeks but these clubs above don't seem to be recipient to Macclesfield Town.

"We get the offers and then say we will and then nothing happens."

With injuries to a number of first-team players, including Shaun Brisley who has been ruled out for four months, Simpson was hoping to add numbers to the Silkmen's squad.

"We've gone through the right channels every single time we tried to bring someone in, and all of a sudden they pop up at another club," Simpson added.

"I don't know whether they're paying a substantial amount to their wages or not."
