Macclesfield Town have signed former Shrewsbury midfielder Ross Draper from Unibond League Premier Division club Hednesford Town.
The 21-year-old has signed a one-year contract and told the club's website he was looking forward to a second chance in the Football League.
"I've always wanted to return to full-time football and I'd had interest from Conference clubs," he said.
"But I really wanted to be back in the Football League since Shrewsbury."
Draper began his career at Shrewsbury before moving on to non-league Stafford Rangers in 2007, he joined Hednesford a year later.
The midfielder added: "I'd spoken to the gaffer [Keith Alexander] before I went away and he sold the club to me.
"He told me who he was planning on bringing in and I couldn't wait to get back."
