Alexander dismisses drop worries

Macclesfield Town

Keith Alexander has calmed fans' nerves by insisting Macclesfield's precarious position does not worry him.

"I am not worried - the teams below us have got to win, everybody has got to win at this stage of the season," the Macc manager told BBC Radio Manchester.

Macclesfield are four points clear of the League Two drop zone with two games left - the final one at rivals Chester.

"We've got two difficult games coming up," said Alexander. "But I knew it was going to be difficult when I came in."

The Macc boss added: "If one or two of the players have got a bit complacent because they've been doing okay, I don't know.

"But football always has a habit of kicking you in the teeth if you get complacent, so we've got to be right for the Chesterfield game and certainly Chester in two weeks' time."
