Keith Keane, Luton Town's longest serving player, has signed a two-year deal to stay at Kenilworth Road.
The 23-year-old midfielder made his Hatters debut aged 16 and has since played 193 games, scoring six times.
He told the club website: "Everyone knows how much I love playing for Luton. I'm happy to have agreed a deal.
"I really believe we are capable of getting into League One and it would be great if we can achieve that during the period of this contract."
Keane, who can also play in defence, has represented the Republic of Ireland at Under-19 and Under-21 levels but is focused on taking the Hatters out of the Blue Square Bet Premier.
"Personally I am not worried about any other teams in this division," he said.
"I feel that destiny is in our own hands, if we play well we are capable of winning this division."
It has been a busy pre-season for Luton boss Richard Money, who has added goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington, defender Dan Gleeson, winger Andy Drury and striker Danny Crow to his squad.
He said: "Keith was impressed with the calibre of the other signings we have made.
"We always felt like he wanted to sign and we're delighted to have secured his services for another two years."
