Luton Town manager Mick Harford has ruled out a return to the club for defender Chris Willmott.
The 31-year-old was released by Blue Square Premier rivals Oxford in April.
He told BBC Three Counties Radio: "We are looking at the defence. I have spoken to Chris's agent but we're not going to take it any further."
Harford has signed keeper Mark Tyler, defender Alan White and striker Liam Hatch and is hoping to bring in new faces before the season begins.
On the capture of former Peterborough keeper Tyler, he said: "I always see the goalkeeper as one of the major positions in a football team.
"Mark Tyler has the experience and the personality and he also wants to come to Luton and help us get back into the Football League.
"He is very positive and upbeat about the situation and he wants to come and do a good job at Luton Town. He is a player I have kept tabs on for a long long time and I think he is a magnificent acquisition."
