Fowler joined Liverpool on a free from Manchester City in January |
Bolton have reiterated their interest in Robbie Fowler as Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez weighs up offering the veteran striker a new contract. Bolton boss Sam Allardyce admitted prior to this month's 1-0 defeat to Liverpool that he admires the player.
And with Fowler still waiting on his future, Bolton have again said they could be tempted to make a summer bid.
A Bolton spokesman told BBC Sport: "If Robbie Fowler does become available we would certainly be interested in him."
He added: "Some of Sam's comments have been blown out of proportion but Robbie is a player we'd consider."
Fowler, 31, has scored four goals in his last five games since returning on a short term contract to Anfield.
And Benitez insists that he has already made his mind up whether to offer the former England striker a deal extension.
"If he can keep scoring it will be easier for me," he said. "I know what I want to do but I'll talk to my staff."
Benitez added: "We all know he has a lot of passion for the club.
"We will continue working with Robbie. When a player is playing every game he cannot improve a lot in his physical condition.
"We cannot expect to see the best of him now. Perhaps in pre-season we will see him progress but we need to decide on his future first."
