 | HOULLIER'S VIEW |
Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier admitted the win over Wolves while not pretty was priceless in the club's chase for a Champions League place. He said: "Don't moan, we won the game. The wind was a great leveller. It's three points we desperately needed.
"Don't ask me about the penalty we should have had or I will get angry. I just hope it was an honest mistake when Emile Heskey was pulled down.
"It was a blatant penalty, I do not see how it was not given," he added.
Houllier also paid tribute to Wolves' gritty performance.
"Wolves were good on the break and could have exposed us with Henri Camara's pace, so in the end I was pleased with the result.
"Although it went right to the death, I was always confident we would get something from all our pressure. It was attack against defence for all the second half.
"I felt we deserved that reward for everything we put into the game. We did not give up and just kept going."
