Lincoln City appoint new director before EGM

David Parman
Parman describes himself as a lifelong fan of Lincoln City

A week before an extraordinary general meeting called by shareholders unhappy with the running of the club Lincoln City have appointed a new director.

David Parman is the managing director of Lincoln's home shirt sponsors Timber Stairs Manufacturers.

"I used to enjoy coming with my dad to the ground in what you could call the glory days of the 70s so I'm committed to the club," he told BBC Lincolnshire.

"I don't want to get too involved with historical wrangling," he added.

"We began by discussing sponsorship but when you find some mutual ground and that you're inspired by being involved, becoming a director was a no-brainer."

Parman joins the board a week before the extraordinary general meeting in which some shareholders will call for a vote of no confidence in the board and chairman Bob Dorrian.

Parman said: "I do think it's a little untimely and a little unfair on a club that's working very hard.

"The board have done a huge amount of positive work and it's a shame a little more time and thought hasn't been given to that."
