Former England stars to play Alexander benefit match
Keith Alexander led Lincoln City to four successive play-off campaigns
Four former England internationals have confirmed they will play in a benefit match in memory of former Lincoln City manager Keith Alexander next month.
Paul Merson, Des Walker, Brian Deane and Mark Walters will play in an all-star XI against a team of Keith's former players at Sincil Bank on May 3.
Ex-Lincoln striker Simon Yeo told BBC Lincolnshire: "They're big names, let's hope we can attract some more.
"These guys are legends so it's going to be absolutely fantastic."
Another former England international, MK Dons boss Paul Ince, will take charge of the all-stars while Keith's long-time assistant, Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson, will lead the team of his ex-players.
It includes nine members of Lincoln's 2003 play-off final squad, five other former Imps players and four who played under Keith at Peterborough.
Money raised from the game will go to the family of Alexander, who died suddenly in March aged 53.
