Lincoln City have signed Bermuda winger Khano Smith on a short-term deal.

The 28-year-old has been playing for US Major League side New York Red Bulls, but international clearance has come through allowing him to join the Imps.

Smith, who has had five weeks on trial with the Imps, becomes Chris Sutton's first full signing since taking over as manager on 28 September.

Sutton told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "He's quite a direct player and he'll offer us something we haven't got."

The former New England Revolution winger has scored seven goals in 24 international appearances for Bermuda.

He is in line for a possible debut at Sincil Bank against Torquay United on Saturday as Sutton's side bid to recover from last weekend's 1-0 defeat at Northampton.
