Clucas played for Lincoln against Sheffield United and Scunthorpe

Lincoln City have signed midfielder Sam Clucas on a one-year contract after he impressed while on trial.

The Lincoln-born 18-year-old spent six seasons with Leicester's youth set-up before being released and has been at Lincoln College for the last two years.

He told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "I grew up in Lincoln so to get a professional contract here is something special."

Manager Peter Jackson said: "Sam's got real potential. He needs to build his strength but I think he's a real find."

Clucas added: "The youth programme is brilliant here and I'm happy for the chance. There are a lot of lads in the youth team who are good enough to step up. "
