Fagan joined Lincoln from Glenn Hoddle's football academy in Spain

Lincoln City were held to a 1-1 draw by Boston United in their pre-season friendly at York Street on Wednesday.

Chris Fagan volleyed home after a poor clearance from keeper Aaron Butcher to put Lincoln ahead after two minutes.

Marc Newsham levelled from the spot in the 37th minute after Kern Miller's foul on James Cullingworth.

Imps manager Peter Jackson told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "It wasn't the best performance, the players didn't look sharp but it's another workout for us."

Boston joint-manager Rob Scott said: "It was a physical workout for the boys against a full-time outfit but I thought they lasted well.

"Everything we asked them to do they put into practice and carried it out to the letter so we're really pleased."
