Wycombe midfielder Stefan Oakes has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with Lincoln that will begin at the start of next month.
Oakes, 29, agreed to move to the Imps earlier this week after turning down a new deal with the Chairboys.
The former Leicester man told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "[Manager] Peter Jackson made me feel really wanted and everybody likes to feel wanted.
"I spoke to a couple of players on the phone and they said he is the kind of manager you want to play for."
Oakes is Jackson's first permanent recruit to the club since he took over as manager at Sincil Bank last year.
The Imps boss said: "It's nice to sign a player where money wasn't the issue.
"He could have earned more money signing at Wycombe or going to another club.
"It's a wonderful, wonderful signing for us. Stefan Oakes' left foot can peel carrots."
