Wright played for Viking Stavangar against Chelsea in 2002 |
Lincoln City have agreed to sign striker Ben Wright from Norwegian side IK Start, although they are waiting for international clearance for the deal. Wright, 27, began his career at non-league Kettering before joining Bristol City, but has played in Norway for the last six years.
He has agreed a two-year deal at Sincil Bank, and passed a medical.
"We've managed to fight off a number of higher league clubs to get him," boss John Schofield told the Imps' website.
"He's wanted to come back to England and we've been monitoring him for a while now."
In September 2002, Wright was playing for Viking Stavangar and scored against Chelsea in the first leg of a Uefa Cup tie which the Blues eventually lost on aggregate.
