Leyton Orient have signed former Ipswich and Crystal Palace striker James Scowcroft.

The 33-year-old, who is Orient's fifth signing, will join the League One club on Monday on a one-year contract.

Scowcroft scored 47 goals in 202 Championship games for Ipswich before a £3m move to Leicester in 2001.

He scored 28 times for the Foxes in the Premier League, he was released from Crystal Palace this summer, where he scored 14 times in 83 games.

Scowcroft had a second spell at Ipswich, on loan from Leicester, before moving to Coventry in 2005, he then joined Palace a year later for £500,000.

Adrian Patulea and Ben Chorley have already joined Orient this summer, while Scott McLeish and Jimmy Smith have turned loan spells into permanent moves.
