Adrian Patulea has become Leyton Orient's third close season signing

Leyton Orient have signed Romanian striker Adrian Patulea from Lincoln City on a two-year contract.

The forward becomes League One Orient's third close season-signing after he turned down a new deal at Sincil Bank.

Patulea, 24, scored 11 goals in 31 Imps appearances (14 of them from the bench) last season after signing for an undisclosed fee in September 2008.

He follows Scott McGleish and Ben Chorley to Brisbane Road as manager Geraint Williams overhauls his squad.

Targoviste-born Patulea began his career at Rapid Bucharest before moving on to Astra Ploiesti.

After a spell at Petrolul Ploisesti, Patulea left his homeland for League Two Lincoln and was signed after impressing during a pre-season trial.

He earned that trial by the headline-making stunt of carrying his wife on his back at a training session.

But the fans' favourite fell out of favour with manager Peter Jackson in the second half of the campaign.

Patulea and fellow striker Sam Mullarkey were set a deadline of 16 June to accept or reject new contract offers, a deadline which expired with neither of them agreeing to the terms put to them.
