Bruno Berner still set to leave Leicester City

Leicester City left-back Bruno Berner says he is still likely to leave, despite winning his place back.

Berner had lost his spot to on-loan Manchester City defender Greg Cunningham and said he needed to move as he was desperate to play regularly.

But Cunningham broke his leg in the 1-0 victory over Hull City on 1 January and Berner, 33, returned and scored in the 2-1 win over Swansea City on Monday.

"It's an unchanged situation. Nothing's changed," he told BBC Radio Leicester.

"I have still not sorted my future. I put in a good performance but already a few Championship clubs have called my agent so there are teams knocking on the door."

The Switzerland international was offered a new contract by Foxes boss Sven-Goran Eriksson but has said his desire to play regular football will be the main factor in his decision.

Berner has not ruled out staying but insists he cannot risk sitting on the bench at this stage of his career.

"It is Sven's call - it is not mine," Berner added: "I played and am ready when needed. But do I really want to wait until Sven's decision or wait until the end of January. I don't know."
