Leicester City manager Paulo Sousa has hinted that Dutch defender Michael Lamey could be offered a deal after impressing during pre-season.

The 30-year-old right-back played during the Foxes' 2-1 friendly defeat by Sunderland at the weekend.

Sousa told BBC Radio Leicester: "I think he had good communication and good understanding with our lads.

"He made good decisions, I am happy with what I see and it is a position we are looking to reinforce our squad."

Lamey, who began his career with RKC Waalwijk, played 38 times for PSV Eindhoven between 2002 and 2007.

He has since played for German sides MSV Duisburg and Arminia Bielefeld.

"I saw good things and I saw the fans enjoy his game," added Sousa.

"Every player that comes on trial there is a possibility for contract with us. We will see what we can do in the next few days."
