Ryan McGivern was on loan at Morecambe last season

Leicester City left-back Ryan McGivern will remain with the Foxes until the end of the season after extending his loan spell from Manchester City.

The 20-year-old Northern Ireland international moved to the Walkers Stadium in August.

McGivern was expected to return to Manchester City this month but he will now help Leicester in their bid to return to the Premier League.

The defender played in Sunday's 1-1 home draw with Ipswich Town.

McGivern made his full international debut against Scotland in August, 2008.
