Leicester City have signed Switzerland international Bruno Berner until the end of the 2011 campaign, subject to approval from the Football League.
The 30-year-old left-back's contract at Blackburn Rovers expired at the end of last season.
Manager Nigel Pearson told the club website: "He's a player with a wealth of experience and I'm sure he will be a great addition to our squad."
Berner will be eligible to play against Millwall on Saturday.
The ex-Grasshopper Zurich and FC Basel player has earned 16 caps for Switzerland.
