Leicester have failed in their attempt to appoint Paul Ince as their new boss after MK Dons refused them permission to speak to him.
"We made an honest approach and it was turned down," Foxes chairman Milan Mandaric told the club's website.
"We are disappointed we've been unable to speak to Paul but we fully respect his decision to stay at MK Dons."
"We will now continue speaking to the other candidates and hopefully make our decision over the weekend."
"Following discussions between the chairman and Paul Ince, it has been decided he will not be pursuing the opportunity at Leicester City.
"Given Paul's success, it can come as no surprise that speculation continues to see his name linked with a number of managerial vacancies.
"In spite of this, the club remains committed to keeping the hottest young manager in English football."
