Clayton scored against Leeds for Carlisle in last season's JP Trophy

Leeds United have signed Manchester City midfielder Adam Clayton on a month's loan deal.

The 20-year-old has yet to make his debut for the Premier League side, but scored three goals in 36 appearances during two loan spells at Carlisle.

Leeds boss Simon Grayson told the club website: "Adam is another good addition to our squad.

"He is a young player with plenty of potential and he gained some good experience last season at Carlisle."

The England U20 international is eligible to play in Saturday's season opener against Derby County.
