Dickov had hoped to extend his loan at Derby until the end of the season
Veteran striker Paul Dickov is training with the Leeds United squad this week.
The 37-year-old former Manchester City, Leicester and Blackburn Rovers man is a free agent after being released by the Foxes last week.
Leeds manager Simon Grayson told the club website: "Paul came in on Monday and he's going to train with us for a couple of days.
"I've known Paul a long time and he was with me at Blackpool. We'll see how things go."
Dickov joined Derby County on loan from Leicester until January but is now free to join another club after he was released from his contract by mutual consent.
He began his career as a trainee at Arsenal and played under Grayson during a loan at Blackpool in 2008.
Dickov has made over 400 appearances in his career, including 10 international caps for Scotland.
