Leeds United goalkeeper Shane Higgs says he is determined to become the club's first choice number one.
The 32-year-old has impressed in pre-season friendly matches against Blackburn and Newcastle since his move to Elland Road last month.
"My ambition here is to play week-in week-out in this league," he told BBC Radio Leeds.
"That has been my goal since I arrived and it still will be this season," the former Wolves and Cheltenham man added.
Higgs will go head-to-head with last year's number one Casper Ankergren and wants to make manager Simon Grayson think about who he puts in the Leeds United goal.
"For myself I'm pleased I've played and now it's the manager's choice. I've just got to try my hardest to make his decision as hard as possible," said Higgs.
Despite knowing he would have competition for a starting place Higgs believed the chance to play for Leeds was too good an opportunity to miss out on.
"Leeds came in for me and I just thought I've got an opportunity to try and progress in my career."
