Telfer's last game before this week had been on 8 December for Bournemouth
League One side Leeds United have signed former Celtic defender Paul Telfer until the end of the season.
The 36-year-old Scot joined Gary McAllister's team on a non-contract status at on the eve of the season, after leaving Bournemouth last season.
He made his debut in the 4-0 Carling Cup victory against Crystal Palace in midweek, having previously had eight months out due to injury.
He previously played alongside compatriot McAllister at Coventry City.
Telfer cancelled his contract with the cash-strapped Cherries in December after being sidelined for the season with a foot injury.
He told Leeds' website: "I could have stayed down south but when Gary asked me if I wanted to join up for training in pre-season, it was a massive incentive for me.
"Six months ago I would not have expected this but I feel fit and I enjoyed pre-season. I'm looking forward to having another year now."
