Nicholls was injured in his first training session with Leeds |
Leeds have been advised by a specialist that new signing Kevin Nicholls does not require surgery to repair damaged knee ligaments. Nicholls, 27, suffered the injury in his first training session with the Elland Road club after his 700,000 signing from Luton Town.
"Any time a player can avoid having a needle or an operation it has to be good," said Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell.
"We're hopeful that he'll recover quicker than three months as well."
He added: "It's not as bad as first feared and we'll just have to see how he goes."
