Dacourt will not be returning to Elland Road |
Roma have struck a deal with Leeds United for the permanent transfer of Olvier Dacourt. Dacourt joined the Serie A giants on loan in January, with Roma having the option to sign the midfielder for 4.2m at the end of the loan spell.
Roma have negotiated a slight reduction in the fee with the cash-strapped Premiership club.
The Italian club's sporting director Franco Baldini said that Dacourt has agreed personal terms on a three-year deal.
"We received a fax from Leeds on Monday and it's going to take a couple of days to ratify the transfer," said Baldini
"The amount agreed is slightly lower than the amount previously requested by Leeds and there will not be any Roma players included in the agreement," he added.
Dacourt made 15 Serie A appearances for Roma, and is highly regarded by coach Fabio Capello.
