 Zaki stays in charge |
Morocco's Royal Football Federation has confirmed that Badou Zaki will remain as manager of the Atlas Lions. "I know there has been a lot of talk lately but there is no need for speculation about Zaki's standing," said federation president Housni Benslimane.
Benslimane also confirmed that Morocco will not hire Frenchman Philippe Troussier as its technical director.
"Troussier is no longer on our agenda.
"Zaki has been doing a great job and has earned our trust."
Meanwhile, Zaki has named a 23-man squad for Sunday's encounter against Sierra Leone in Casablanca.
Nineteen overseas players were invited, including Bordeaux striker Maromane Chamakh and El Hussien Khargeya, who plays for Italian second division club Ternana.
Goalkeepers Karim Fakrosh from FUS Rabat and Lamyaghri Nader from Wydad received their first call-ups to the national team.
Experienced defender Abdelilah Fahmi is also back in the squad, after recovering from injury.
