Kyle says he is relishing the prospect of playing in the SPL
Kilmarnock have signed Kevin Kyle from English Championship side Coventry City on an 18-month contract.
The 27-year-old striker, who scored five goals while on loan at Hartlepool this season, said he was relishing the prospect of playing in the SPL.
"As a Scot, the thought of playing against Rangers and Celtic - you want to test yourself against teams like that," Kyle said.
Killie manager Jim Jefferies said Kyle would be a "terrific" signing.
Kyle said he was looking forward to a fresh start with Kilmarnock after a frustrating spell with Coventry.
"I'm just looking forward to playing football. I was offered better deals elsewhere but I wanted to come here as it's a good opportunity to play," he said.
"I can't wait to get started and it's a great game to start with as St Mirren are opening their new stadium. It'll be a good atmosphere and hopefully the result will go Kilmarnock's way.
"I noticed at the beginning of the season Killie were doing really well but lately they've had a bad run of results but they're only four points off sixth place.
"Hopefully, we can get a win on Saturday, pick up and get back into the top six."
Jefferies added: "Kevin's excited about the challenge of coming to Kilmarnock and I'm sure he'll be terrific for us."
