Naismith has won the Young Player of the Year award for the last two seasons |
Kilmarnock striker Steven Naismith does not know at the moment where his future lies, and insists he knows nothing about any impending move. The 20-year-old, named SPL young player of the year, has been linked heavily with a move to Rangers following his winning goal at Ibrox on Sunday.
He told BBC Sport: "At the moment, I'll be returning for pre-season training.
"Ideally, I'd like to play on a bigger stage sometime, but it all depends on any offers received by Kilmarnock."
Naismith has now won six Bank of Scotland SPL awards and has scored 18 goals this season.
The forward also had a training spell in September 2006 with Arsenal and the Gunners could yet make a summer move for the Scot.
Kilmarnock entertain Hearts on 20 May and it may well prove to be Naismith's 110th - and final - game for the club.
"It's great to have the recognition this season, but a lot of credit has to go to my team-mates, plus the manager and coaching staff at Rugby Park," he added.
"I'm really pleased with my scoring record and the highlight would probably be scoring a hat-trick in the CIS Cup semi-final against Falkirk, but it was a really disappointing performance in the final against Hibs."
Killie boss Jim Jefferies is among Naismith's may admirers and said: "Steven has had a sensational second half of the season.
"There was a lot of competition for the young player award, so it's a real credit to the club that he's made such excellent progress.
"At the moment, all we've been hearing is speculation.
"We've had no enquiries yet, but bigger clubs will always have the resources and we would have to consider anything that may help Kilmarnock financially for the future."
