Skora said he contemplated quitting the game because of his injury |
Kilmarnock midfielder Eric Skora has signed a two-year deal with the club. The Frenchman was given a new contract by manager Jim Jefferies after proving his fitness following an operation on a ruptured cruciate ligament.
Skora, 25, was brought to Rugby Park for his second spell at the club after suffering an injury while at Preston North End.
"There weren't many clubs who would have taken a gamble on me, out of shape and with two operations on my knee."
Skora impressed on loan from Preston in 2004 and signed a permanent deal last January.
But he did not play once for Killie last season and he returned to France for an operation in the summer.

Skora said it was a difficult time for him and revealed he contemplated quitting the game.
"It was very, very difficult for me and my family. My wife and kids were very supportive," he said.
"At one point I wanted to throw the towel in because it was getting too much."
The midfielder added: "But in a way I'm glad that injury taught me not to get carried away with the way you are living because it could happen to any of us, a bad injury and that's it."
