Keeper Danny Lewis signs Kidderminster Harriers deal

Kidderminster Harriers goalkeeper Danny Lewis has signed a new two-year contract with the Aggborough club.

The 28-year-old, who is in his second spell at Aggborough, rejoined the side in the summer from Redditch United.

"Danny is having a terrific season and it is nice to be in a position where we can tie him up with us," boss Steve Burr told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

Meanwhile 25-year-old midfielder Callum Gittings has penned a one-year extention with the club.

Lewis moved on to Moor Green after leaving Harriers and then Redditch where he played under Harriers' current assistant manager Gary Whild.

I'm really pleased to have been able to sort this out because he would have been out of contract at the end of the season

When Whild made the move to Aggborough in the summer Lewis opted to follow him and Burr says the keeper has made the most of his second chance.

"I have to say that I think he is someone who has a really bright future ahead and hopefully he can take us higher," Burr said.

"For a goalkeeper he is still at a young age and I could see him being here for many years and breaking all sorts of records as he works so hard.

"I'm really pleased to have been able to sort this out because he would have been out of contract at the end of the season."
