Barry Norgrove has already been impressed by the calibre of candidate
Kidderminster Harriers chairman Barry Norgrove says he will not be rushed into appointing Mark Yates' successor at Aggborough.
Yates left the club on Tuesday to join Cheltenham Town.
Norgrove told BBC Hereford & Worcester:"If I just pick someone fairly quickly it might be the wrong decision so I am hoping to advertise.
"We will see who applies for it and then break them down from there to make sure we get the right person."
Norgrove said he fought hard to keep Yates at Aggborough but ultimately felt he could not stand in the way of his manager's ambitions to advance his career.
"We are all sorry to see Mark go as he has been great for us," he said.
"He has done really well since he has taken over and we have been pretty successful given the size of the club.
"I wish him all the best at Cheltenham and we have finally come to a deal with them and I am very pleased with that deal."
Norgrove has already received inquiries about the job.
"There has been tremendous interest and it started about a week ago," he said.
"All I have said to them is when we advertise it they should apply and we will then break them down.
"There are some good names in there and I have been pleasantly surprised.
"We'll look at it closely and take our time so that hopefully we will pick the right one."
