Ian Roper and Nathan Abbey sign new Kettering contracts

Kettering Town captain Ian Roper and goalkeeper Nathan Abbey have both signed new contracts with the Poppies.
Roper, 32, has penned a two-year deal, while 31-year-old Abbey has signed a contract for the 2010/11 season.
"I've got to pay tribute to Ian because he's one of several players, along with myself, who've taken pay cuts," manager Lee Harper told BBC Radio Northampton.
"He looks a bit bulky and you think he might not be the quickest but he's deceptive and he reads the game well."
Roper was Kettering's player of the year last season.
We're trying to put together a solid foundation and a spine to the team
Kettering manager Lee Harper
"He's got experience at Championship level and he's an honest character who gives 100% all the time," added Harper.
"He wants to win football matches, he's shown his commitment to the club and he and John Dempster will be one of the better partnerships in the division."
Commenting on Abbey, Harper said: "I've known Nathan a long time and worked with him at Northampton Town. He's a good, honest professional and he hates losing.
"We're trying to put together a solid foundation and a spine to the team. It starts at the back with that solidity."
Midfielder Andre Boucaud has also signed a two-year contract with the Poppies. He made 33 appearances for the club last season.
