Dempster joined Kettering from local rivals Rushden and Diamonds
Kettering Town defender John Dempster says the club are hoping that they will be allowed to feature in the play-offs if they stay in a top five position.
The club's lease at Rockingham Road is nearing its end and as a result promotion will not be sanctioned.
"If we were to finish in the play offs we couldn't go up," Dempster told BBC Radio Northampton.
"But we just want make sure we are in or around the play offs just in case a miracle does happen."
