Poppies suffer Branston cup blow

Two yellow cards ended Guy Branston's hopes of taking on Fulham

Kettering Town captain Guy Branston will miss Saturday's FA Cup fourth round tie against Fulham.

He was sent off for two bookable offences during Tuesday's Setanta Shield quarter-final at Telford.

It means the defender will be suspended as Kettering take on the Premier League outfit in one of the biggest matches in the club's history.

Manager Mark Cooper was also dismissed to the stands as his side went out 3-2 after extra time.

Meanwhile, long-serving midfielder Brett Solkhon has been impressed with the fans' enthusiasm ahead of this weekend's big match.

"I've walked through the town a couple of times recently, and you get supporters coming up to you and wanting to talk about the game," Solkhon told BBC Radio Northampton.

"I've been with the club six years now and it's really exciting.

"This season has been a great one for us and the support we've had is unbelievable."
