The 2010/11 season starts brightly. Grant Leadbitter celebrates his goal in a 2-1 win at Crystal Palace on 21 August. Ipswich reach a high spot of second in the league after a 2-1 win at home to Leeds on 2 October.
A slump follows including a 4-1 defeat by rivals Norwich City at Carrow Road on 28 November. It was 1-1 when Damien Delaney was sent off in the first half.
The League Cup provides respite as Ipswich Town beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 in the quarter-finals on 1 December. Tamas Priskin is thwarted in front of a crowd of 11,363.
Roy Keane contemplates a 1-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest on 3 January 2011. The result left Ipswich three points above the relegation zone and 11 off the play-offs.
