Keane's side were 4-1 losers to rivals Norwich on Sunday

Ipswich Town boss Roy Keane says he is not eager for owner Marcus Evans to give him a public vote of confidence.

Evans, who bank rolls the Portman Road club, has yet to give his assessment of Town's four-match losing run, which has seen them drop to 17th in the table.

"I don't really need that statement," Keane told BBC Radio Suffolk.

"Have we not seen down the years managers getting the vote of confidence and two or three weeks later they're out of a job?"

Keane signed a two-year deal at Ipswich in April 2009 and was given the task of bringing Premier League football back to Suffolk.

Chief executive Simon Clegg said a fortnight ago that poor results had not put the Irishman under any further pressure.

But Evans has maintained his consistently low profile and Keane insists he is happier that way.

"Let's not be kidding around with that, it is about getting results and we need to start that quickly," Keane added.

"I'm just focused on the job and hopefully staying in the job until the summer.

"But if you're losing football matches that can be changed."

The former Manchester United midfielder could improve his prospects on Wednesday night when his side face West Brom in their League Cup quarter-final.
