Ipswich Town manager Roy Keane has admitted no new signings are imminent at Portman Road.

Town have yet to add to their squad this summer, after a disappointing Championship campaign which saw them finish 15th.

Keane told the club's website: "We have been linked with a lot of players and talks are going on between the owner, chief executive and other clubs.

"But we are not close to signing anyone at the moment."

He added: "Hopefully that will change over the next week or two. Everyone is being cagey at the moment. It's the same for all the clubs."

Ipswich have been linked with numerous players, most notably Cardiff City striker Michael Chopra, but seem satisfied to keep their cards close to their chest for the time being.

"Any deals that have gone through, particularly in the Championship, seem to be with players whose contracts were up," said Keane.

"Patience is the key word. It's important that we get the right players in, the right characters.

"Ideally we would like to have the players in by the start of pre-season but we don't live in an ideal world. If we have to wait, we will wait."

Meanwhile the club's derby matches with newly-promoted Norwich City have been switched to new dates.

The trip to Carrow Road will now take place on Sunday, 28 November instead of the previous Saturday.

The Portman Road clash, scheduled for Easter Saturday (23 April), will now be a 1315 GMT kick-off on Good Friday (22 April).
