Ipswich Town winger Luciano Civelli will not return to action until the new year after undergoing extensive surgery on his right knee.

The 22-year-old, who cost Town about £1m in January, came off on a stretcher in the final minutes of Ipswich's draw against Burnley on 17 March.

Town physio Matt Byard told the club website: "We are pleased with the way the surgery has gone.

"The knee is strong and stable and we anticipate him making a full recovery."
