David Wright missed Saturday's defeat to Cardiff City because of illness

Ipswich Town defender David Wright could be in line for a call-up to George Burley's Scotland squad.

Former Ipswich defender Burley told the Mail on Sunday: "He's one we will be keeping an eye on now and I will be watching him personally at some point.

"He's stated to the Ipswich staff that he is keen to play for Scotland, so we will check to make sure he's eligible."

Warrington-born Wright, 28, started his career at Crewe before joining Ipswich from Wigan Athletic in January 2007.
