Ipswich manager Jim Magilton has said he has no plans to resign following his side's defeat at Norwich on Sunday.

The Town boss has faced calls to quit from some fans but he told reporters he had since received a message of support from club owner Marcus Evans.

Magilton told BBC Suffolk he was not under additional pressure ahead of Wednesday's game against Bristol City.

He said: "I don't think I can put any more pressure on myself, it's important to show a positive reaction."

Magilton has asked Ipswich supporters to back the players in their next two consecutive home matches.

He added: "This is their football club and we're trying extremely hard to produce results and produce performances.

"Sunday's gone, we have tasted victory for the last three years in these games and we'll look at the performance and analyse it but I would urge them to do that at the end of the season and get behind the players."
